Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that the Middle East region is heading towards a "ring of fire" and that the process that follows will be much more difficult.
Speaking at the press conference following the meeting with his Senegalese counterpart in Ankara, the Turkish leader made the following statement: "The region is heading towards a very serious ring of fire. Unfortunately, the process that follows will be much more difficult in the region. Our hope is that we will evaluate, primarily through the UN, how to bring under control the developments in the region."
Expressing that Türkiye deems it a fraternal and humanitarian duty to stand by the Palestinian and Lebanese people, Erdoğan said, "We appreciate the firm stance against the genocide policy of the Israeli government shown by our African brothers, who know the meaning of persecution, oppression, war, and massacre and experienced the pain."
