President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, described the negotiations held in İstanbul on June 2 between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations as a historic step towards resolving the crisis in Ukraine.
In a video address to the nation on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, Erdoğan stated:
“As Türkiye, we are doing our utmost to stop the genocide in Palestine and to end the war between Russia and Ukraine by ensuring a just peace.
The meeting held in İstanbul on Monday, June 2, was a historic step towards ending the bloody war that has entered its fourth year just north of our borders.”
