Erdoğan says Euro-Atlantic security is at a historic turning point (Ria Novosti)

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye stated that Euro-Atlantic security is at a historic turning point, adding that the prevailing understanding of security needs to be reshaped.

Speaking at the luncheon held in honour of the Speakers of Allied Parliaments, President Erdoğan said, ''Euro-Atlantic security is at a historic turning point. The war, crises, terrorism, and irregular migration along our Alliance's eastern and southeastern borders make it necessary to reshape the prevailing understanding of security."

Noting that outdated patterns and long-held assumptions are being dismantled one by one, while what will replace them remains unclear, President Erdoğan said, ''We are right in the middle of an era of uncertainty, where tension is replacing stability, chaos is replacing order, predictability is diminishing, and no one knows what they will wake up to the next morning.''

The President also stated that what is happening requires new approaches to ensuring regional and international security.
