On Monday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.
According to a statement by the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, the parties discussed the agenda of the NATO Leaders’ Summit, as well as regional and global developments.
The meeting took place shortly after Mark Rutte’s arrival in Ankara and ahead of the NATO Leaders’ Summit, which commences on Tuesday.
Erdoğan emphasised that Ankara had completed all necessary preparations for the summit, expressing his hope that the summit to be hosted by Türkiye would yield auspicious outcomes.
The President also said that a wide range of issues needed to be addressed at the summit, including strengthening collective defence and enhancing defence industry cooperation among NATO member countries.
Lastly, Erdoğan added that the Defence Industry Forum, to be held on the sidelines of the summit, would also be closely followed with great interest.
