Erdoğan remotely joins the meeting between Trump and the Syrian President (France)

According to the Turkish state news agency Anadolu Agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan remotely participated in the meeting held on Wednesday in Riyadh between Donald Trump and the Syrian Arab Republic's Interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

The Anadolu Agency reported that during the meeting, Erdoğan welcomed the United States' decision to lift sanctions on Syria, stating that it would set an example for other countries.

As reported by the official Turkish news agency, Erdoğan reiterated that Ankara will continue to support the new authorities in Damascus in the face of the threat from the jihadist group DAESH.

The Anadolu Agency noted that the Turkish President called for efforts to end the war in Gaza during the meeting, which was also attended by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia.

Ankara strongly supports Syria’s new administration and is urging the international community to lift the sanctions imposed on Damascus during the Bashar al-Assad era.

Donald Trump underlined that he recently discussed this issue with his Turkish counterpart over the phone.
