President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasised that the only way to achieve permanent peace in Gaza is the implementation of a two-state solution, and called on the international community to intensify efforts to realise this goal.
Erdoğan made this statement during a meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Sharm el-Sheikh. The two leaders discussed bilateral relations as well as various regional and international issues.
Erdoğan stated that Türkiye is exerting concentrated efforts to cease attacks in Gaza and to establish a ceasefire, and emphasised that efforts to achieve a permanent ceasefire and to promote peace will continue to intensify.
Emphasising that humanitarian aid must be delivered to Gaza without interruption and that the reconstruction efforts should commence immediately, Erdoğan stated that his country is actively working to enhance cooperation across all sectors, particularly in the defence industry, concerning bilateral issues.
