President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the Istanbul Natural Resources Summit held at the İstanbul Lütfi Kırdar International Convention and Exhibition Centre and delivered a speech.
According to the news reports in the Turkish press, President Erdoğan stated that the first natural gas flow from Turkmenistan was carried out through Iran on March 1.
Highlighting that this line transmitted 250 million cubic meters of natural gas so far, President Erdoğan said, "We will hopefully deliver a total of 1.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas by the end of the year. At this juncture, our initial plan is to extend the agreement for another 5 years, and our ultimate goal is to bring Turkmen gas to our country via the Caspian transit pipeline. If we can achieve this, we will be able to provide a much higher flow of gas for both our country and Europe."
