During the session breaks of the G7 Summit in Italy, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye met with President Joe Biden of the US, according to Anadolu Agency and CNN Türk.
Erdoğan held several bilateral meetings with the leaders attending the G7 Summit today. The Turkish President participated in a meeting centred around Africa and the Mediterranean, with a specific emphasis on the advancement of artificial intelligence and energy.
Upon their arrival in Italy, the leaders were welcomed by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
In his statement earlier this week, US Ambassador to Ankara Jeffrey Flake noted that Erdoğan and his US counterpart Joe Biden would meet if their schedules aligned, adding that the US administration had extended an invitation to Erdoğan to visit the White House.
