President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye said that the amount of aid being delivered to Gaza is decreasing due to Israel's obstructions and that the idleness of the United Nations (UN) is worrying.
Speaking after the Cabinet meeting, Erdoğan said, "We see that the aid delivered to Gaza has decreased significantly. The reason behind this is that Israel is committing acts of terrorism against humanitarian organisations. However, we need to exert extra effort before winter to meet all the needs of the people living in Gaza. Moreover, our claims that Israeli atrocities would not stay limited to Gaza proved to be correct. Israel's current audacity is such that it has begun attacking the UN Peacekeeping Force."
The Turkish President stated that the UN "is incapable of protecting its own workers." Erdoğan added, "This is appalling and causes us great concern. Just picture Israeli tanks breaking into UN territory and attacking the peacekeeping force; all the while the UN Security Council does nothing but remain a bystander to this banditry. It truly is a mystery as to what the UN Security Council is waiting for to stop Israel."
Erdoğan also reminded that countries that "back terrorists in Syria and keep Türkiye from fighting against them have in the past given the Israeli government their blessing and backing."
