Celebrating the upcoming year, 2025, for Turkish citizens, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye stated that the country would persist in its efforts to establish peace and stability in Syria, cease the 15-month-long massacres in Gaza and other Palestinian territories, and prioritise the establishment of a fair peace between the Russian Federation and Ukraine.

In his New Year address, Erdoğan stated, "Today, we bid farewell to 2024 and welcome 2025 with new hopes, expectations, and dreams. First and foremost, I implore Allah to bless our country, our nation, our souls, and all of humanity with the arrival of the new Gregorian year."

Erdoğan expressed his optimism that "a new era will begin in 2025" beyond Türkiye's northern borders and affirmed his support for peace in Syria and Palestine.

In his New Year video message, Erdoğan stated, "We will provide all the necessary support in order for the new period to open the door to lasting peace, calm, stability, and economic prosperity in Syria. Addressing the long-standing crisis in Gaza and Palestine, Erdoğan also called for an end to the violence and the establishment of peace.

"We are exerting intensive efforts in order for the massacres, which have been ongoing for 15 months in the Palestinian territories, to end and in order for peace to be established there," said Erdoğan, reaffirming Türkiye's intention to play a key role in regional reconstruction and peacebuilding along with pledging for unwavering efforts in the fight against terrorism by emphasising domestic and regional security. "We will take determined steps in the upcoming period to realise our vision of a terror-free Türkiye and a terror-free region. The termination of the war between Russia and Ukraine, both of which are our neighbours in the Black Sea, with a just peace remains to be a priority for us," highlighted Erdoğan in his statement.
