Erdoğan: Genocide in Gaza exposed hollowness of Western values (Iran)

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye criticised the Western attitude towards the genocide committed by the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip, stating that these events exposed the hollowness of Western countries' moral values.

Speaking at a conference held by the non-governmental organisation "Women and Democracy" in İstanbul, Turkish President Erdoğan stated that the ongoing massacres in the Gaza Strip revealed Western claims regarding moral values to be utterly without foundation.

Referring to the bloodshed in Gaza in the past 18 months, Erdoğan said:

"All of these events and the recent massacres have exposed the Western notion of humanitarianism as a lie."

"Each time an innocent child, a baby, or a woman falls victim to this atrocity, the Western moral superiority erodes." This so-called superiority was also questioned in the past," added Erdoğan.

Emphasising the need for democracy to be freed from the moulds imposed by the West, Erdoğan stated that democracy must be reinstated for humanity as a guiding force for human rights and freedoms.

Erdoğan pointed out that Western rhetoric on women's rights should be approached with scepticism and urged the public to be more critical of these issues.

In his concluding remarks, Erdoğan criticised opposition parties in Türkiye, expressing concern over their support for policies aimed at erasing gender identity.
