Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called on the UN Security Council to "stop Israel immediately".
Erdoğan held a meeting with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Dubai, RIA Novosti reports.
"During the meeting, President Erdoğan said that Israel's attacks on Rafah and all of Gaza are unacceptable and that the UN Security Council and the relevant countries should take steps to stop Israel as soon as possible," the office said in a statement.
The Turkish leader stressed that the Israeli Defence Forces' attacks on the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah are the result of the hypocritical policy pursued by Western countries.
Volker Türk, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, said that the international community should not allow the Israel Defence Forces to carry out military operations in Rafah.
