Erdoğan approves agreement on cooperation among Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Turkmenistan

President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, signed a decree approving the Intergovernmental Agreement on Commercial and Economic Cooperation among Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Turkmenistan.


According to the Official Gazette, the three countries agreed to develop long-term cooperation in a variety of fields, including trade in goods and services, energy, agriculture, food and livestock, construction, machinery, equipment, and material production, engineering and automotive industries, chemical and textile industries, transportation and logistics, finance and investment.

The agreement also calls for long-term collaboration in medical services and technology, the pharmaceutical industry, tourism, the development of small and medium-sized businesses, computer, information, and communication technology, space and aviation industries, and postal services.

The agreement was signed in Turkmenbashi as part of the first tripartite summit in December 2022, attended by Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye's leaders, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Ilham Aliyev, and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The meeting aimed to further strengthen the tripartite relationship in the economic field. Following the meetings, five tripartite cooperation documents were signed by Ashgabat, Baku, and Ankara.
