President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye told reporters while returning from the UN General Assembly in New York that Ankara and Washington are still at odds and that he hoped the US would change its policy course on Türkiye following the election.
President said, "I would like the next president-elect to not behave as the former president. The F-35 issue persisted not only under Mr Donald Trump but also following his time in the office. Both Republicans and Democrats consistently disappoint us. Let's see if this policy will continue in the coming term."
Erdoğan recalled that the US owes Türkiye for the F-35, stating that they will persist in their endeavours to obtain what is owed.
