Erdoğan and Abdelatty emphasise the need to ensure the territorial integrity of the Palestinian lands (ISNA)

Turkish President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt met in Ankara, emphasising the need for a link between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip to ensure the territorial integrity of Palestinian lands.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Badr Abdelatty, met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara on Wednesday.

According to a statement from Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdelatty delivered a written message from President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt to Erdoğan regarding the strengthening of bilateral relations.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance economic cooperation. Abdelatty stressed the Egyptian government’s commitment to continuing efforts to create conditions conducive to attracting Turkish investment.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt and the Turkish President also exchanged views on the developments in Gaza. Abdelatty praised the strong cooperation between Egypt, Türkiye, Qatar, and the United States in achieving a Gaza peace agreement, emphasising the importance of relying on and consolidating this agreement to allow humanitarian aid to enter without obstacles and to pave the way for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

Erdoğan and Abdelatty also discussed ongoing consultations on a draft UN Security Council resolution regarding Gaza and the international stabilisation force in the area.

During the meeting, both sides underlined the need to ensure a link between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip to guarantee the territorial integrity of the Palestinian lands.
