According to Telegrafi, President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated at the 6th European Political Community (EPC) summit, held in Albania, that “a window of opportunity has opened to stop the bloodshed between Russia and Ukraine.”
"We are at a critical juncture to bring an end to the fighting in Ukraine. We are contributing to efforts aimed at finding a solution. It is essential to encourage the parties," President Erdoğan said, adding that a foundation had been laid for peace to be achieved after three years of war. He continued:
“Following our meeting with President Zelensky in Ankara yesterday, we decided to initiate technical talks. For the first time, a meaningful window of opportunity has emerged to halt the bloodshed. Negotiations are currently ongoing in Istanbul, under the leadership of my Foreign Minister This opportunity must not be missed. The support of all our partners here is crucial to securing peace and keeping channels of dialogue open between Ukraine and Russia.”
The President further underlined that Türkiye would continue its efforts to bring an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine and to establish a fair peace.
Highlighting the delicate nature of the conflict resolution process, President Erdoğan remarked, “The parties must not be pressured into making a decision. This is essential for achieving a just and lasting peace.”
