Energy Minister of Türkiye: “All Azerbaijani natural resource export projects to Türkiye will be implemented in cooperation with Baku” (Georgia)

During his visit to Azerbaijan, the Minister of Energy of Türkiye, Alparslan Bayraktar, stated that while Azerbaijan’s electricity exports are currently routed through Georgia, all energy resources are set to be exported via the Zangezur Corridor in the near future.

Bayraktar noted that all projects related to the export of Azerbaijan's natural resources, including oil, natural gas and electricity, to Türkiye will be implemented in cooperation with Baku.

The Minister of Energy of Türkiye said, "Progress has been made in this direction. The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum (BTE) gas pipeline, and the Nakhchivan-Türkiye electricity interconnection are among the projects completed to date. Currently, electricity from Azerbaijan to Türkiye is exported via Georgia; however, in the near future, all energy resources and related logistics will be delivered to Türkiye through the Zangezur Corridor Moreover, energy resources and logistics solutions from Central Asia will be transported to Türkiye through Azerbaijan and onwards from Türkiye to Europe.
