On March 18, Egyptian Foreign Minister Shoukry met with Turkish Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu, who was visiting Egypt, at Tahrir Palace in Cairo. After discussing several international and regional issues of mutual concern, the two parties held a joint press conference.
The two parties announced that the two countries have agreed to re-establish diplomatic relations at the embassy level as soon as possible and will encourage the two countries' leaders to meet in the second half of this year.
