According to Daily Sabah, Minister of Energy Zhecho Stankov of Bulgaria and his Turkish counterpart Alparslan Bayraktar signed today in İstanbul a Memorandum of Understanding on the expansion of cross-border electricity transmission and cooperation in the fields of energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, and hydrogen and carbon capture technologies.
The memorandum of understanding was signed on the sidelines of the Natural Resources Summit (INRES 2025), held today in İstanbul, which focused on international cooperation in the fields of strategic minerals, hydrocarbons, and long-term resource security within the context of the global energy transition.
After the signing of the memorandum, Bayraktar shared on his X profile, "I hope this agreement, which will further boost our constructive cooperation with Bulgaria and contribute to energy supply security, will be beneficial."
