President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye reported that following the 6.2 magnitude earthquake on April 23, he received the latest updates from relevant ministers, the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) officials, and the Governor of İstanbul.
Erdoğan confirmed that all government institutions, particularly the Ministry of Health and AFAD, are on high alert.
According to a statement from the İstanbul Governor's Office, panic caused 151 citizens to jump off of buildings during the earthquake and sustain injuries. All injured individuals were admitted to hospitals for treatment and were reported to be in non-critical condition.
