President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia at the Dolmabahçe Presidential Office.
The leaders discussed bilateral relations between Türkiye and Somalia, as well as regional and global issues.
Stating that we will continue to take steps to enhance relations between Türkiye and Somalia in many areas, especially trade and energy, President Erdoğan noted that the commencement of operations by our drilling vessel, Çağrı Bey, off the coast of Somalia is a symbol of our cooperation.
Underscoring Türkiye’s support for Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, President Erdoğan noted that our support for the complete resolution of the issues between Ethiopia and Somalia will continue without interruption.
President Erdoğan was accompanied at the meeting by Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Director of National Intelligence Organization İbrahim Kalın, Presidency’s Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran, Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çağatay Kılıç, and Chief Advisor to the President Zafer Çubukcu.
