Head of Communications Duran’s statement on 36th Summit of NATO Heads of State and Government

The Presidency's Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, issued a message regarding the 36th Summit of NATO Heads of State and Government to be hosted by Türkiye. 

In his message shared on his NSosyal account, Head of Communications Duran stated:

"Under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the 36th Session of the NATO Heads of State and Government Summit will take place at the Presidential Complex in Ankara on 7–8 July 2026.

From a 360-degree perspective, the summit will evaluate the steps taken within the framework of the decision to expand defence investments, alongside the Alliance’s ongoing efforts in deterrence and defence sectors. Furthermore, the Leaders will exchange views at a strategic level on the threats, risks, and challenges facing the Euro-Atlantic region and also address the situation in Ukraine and recent developments along the Alliance’s southern flank.

On the occasion of the Summit, President Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan will host a reception and dinner at the Presidential Complex on 7 July in honour of the visiting Heads of State and Government and their spouses.

The North Atlantic Council will convene with the Allied Heads of State and Government on 8 July, hosted by President Erdoğan.

President Erdoğan also expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings with participating Heads of State and Government on the margins of the Summit."
