President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated the Turkish Cypriot people on the occasion of the 20 July Peace and Freedom Day.
In a post on his NSosyal account, President Erdoğan commemorated the heroic martyrs with mercy and gratitude and paid tribute to the veterans on the 52nd anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation.
President Erdoğan stated, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Turkish Cypriot people on the occasion of the 20 July Peace and Freedom Day and send my warmest greetings to my Turkish Cypriot brothers and sisters. As the motherland and guarantor state, we will never leave the Turkish Cypriot people alone in their just cause.”
On the other hand, the Presidency's Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, shared a post on his social media account regarding 52nd anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation:
"The heroic epic of 20 July 1974 marked a watershed moment in the Turkish Cypriots' struggle for freedom and security, laying the foundations of peace, tranquillity, and stability on the island.
On the 52nd anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation, I commemorate with mercy and respect our revered martyrs and honour our valiant veterans with gratitude. I salute the noble struggle of the Turkish Cypriots with utmost respect.
Under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Türkiye will continue to resolutely support the rightful cause of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, founded on the principles of sovereign equality and equal international status, and to protect its rights and interests in the Blue Homeland without compromise."
