TEMPORARY PRESS ACCREDITATION

The accreditation process for international media members who will temporarily travel to Türkiye for professional purposes is initiated upon application to the Directorate of Communications. Applicants whose requests are approved may be issued a temporary accreditation card valid for up to three months.

Temporary accreditation procedures are carried out exclusively online.

Application Process

Media representatives must first register in the system via: https://akreditasyon.iletisim.gov.tr/Account/Register

After completing registration, applicants can log in at: https://akreditasyon.iletisim.gov.tr and submit their accreditation applications.

Applicants who have registered but forgotten their password may reset it via: https://akreditasyon.iletisim.gov.tr/Account/GetNewPassword

Journalists working for international media organizations may complete their applications by filling in the required fields and uploading the requested documents through the system.

Each member of a media team traveling to Türkiye must register individually and submit their own application.

Required Documents

1) An assignment letter issued by the employing media organization confirming that the applicant is assigned to work as a journalist in Türkiye.

The assignment letter must include:

  • It must be addressed to the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Directorate of Communications
  • A clear description of the professional activity to be carried out in Türkiye
  • The journalist’s title and the exact dates of assignment
  • It must be signed, on official letterhead, and dated within the last three months

2) A letter of introduction from the Embassy or Consulate of the country where the media organization is based, located in Türkiye (this letter must be written in Turkish)

3) A copy of the passport identity page

4) A passport-sized photograph

5) Curriculum Vitae

6) A press visa to be obtained from Turkish missions abroad by international media members traveling to Türkiye for journalistic work*

* The press visa is requested at a later stage from applicants whose accreditation has been approved by the Directorate of Communications. Applicants will be directed to the relevant Turkish mission for their visa application. After obtaining the visa, applicants must log into the accreditation system and upload a copy of their visa.

Evaluation and Approval Process

Applicants will receive an email confirming that their application has been submitted. They may also track the status of their application by logging into the system.

If any errors or missing documents are identified during the evaluation process, applicants will be requested to make corrections via the system. Notifications regarding such revisions will also be sent via email.

Considering the application and evaluation process, it is important to submit applications at least one month prior to the intended date of activity in order to ensure timely and smooth processing.

Applicants whose temporary accreditation is approved will receive further information regarding card delivery via email.
