Director of Communications Altun meets with Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Kairat Imanaliev

Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun held an inter-committee meeting with Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Kairat Imanaliev.

In the meeting that took place at the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, steps for developing the relationship between Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan and cooperation in media, communications, culture and public diplomacy were discussed.

In his address, Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun congratulated Kyrgyzstan on the 30th anniversary of its independence and expressed that Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan were two countries with strong bonds. 

Indicating that Türkiye always stood by Kyrgyzstan under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's leadership, Altun also stated that they would like to deepen and strengthen the cooperation in the field of media and information.

Emphasising that the peoples of the two countries should know each other better, Altun expressed that protecting the shared history and culture was necessary for establishing a common future.

"We will continue to support our Kyrgyz brothers and sisters in the fight against FETO"

Fahrettin Altun emphasised the benefits of cooperation and joint action that would be strengthened in the fields of news, films and TV series with the joint media platform, and noted:

"We can achieve significant gains by explaining our common cultural values ​​and wealth to the whole world more accurately and widely. We can fight stronger together against black propaganda and disinformation targeting our countries. The Fethullahist Terrorist Organisation (FETO) conducts black propaganda and disinformation activities in the international arena. We regard the fight against FETO as vital. FETO is making disinformation efforts aimed at disrupting Turkish-Kyrgyz relations. We will continue to support our Kyrgyz brothers and sisters in the fight against this dark terrorist organisation. On the other hand, we should cooperate to eliminate digital fascism. As Türkiye, we will stand by our Kyrgyz brothers and sisters with all of our means in all areas."

Stating that Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University could be better utilised in deepening cooperation in the fields of politics, economy, media and culture, Altun expressed that ethnosport events could be a good example for international public diplomacy activities.

''We have always felt Türkiye's support''

Stating that Türkiye was the first country to recognise Kyrgyzstan's independence, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Kairat Imanaliev said that they had always felt Türkiye's support.

Stressing President Erdoğan's efforts and leadership to strengthen the relations among the Turkic world countries have always made them proud, Imanaliev said, ''Everyone witnessed Türkiye's support for Azerbaijan in its right cause.''

Imanaliev conveyed that President of Republic of Kyrgyzstan Sadir Caparov had the intention of visiting Türkiye and meeting with Erdoğan as soon as possible and said, "We feel so happy when we see our Turkish brothers and sisters in Kyrgyzstan.''

Pointing out the importance of strengthening cooperation in media, film and TV series sectors, Imanaliev said that they were ready to work with Türkiye in the fields of media, culture, social media and fight against FETO.

From Kyrgyzstan delegation, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Ankara Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Advisor to the Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Urmat Usenov, Head of International Department of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Nazgul Omurzakova, Counsellor of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Ankara Aybek Akaev attended the meeting.

Presidency's Deputy Director of Communications Çağatay Özdemir, Media Relations Coordinator Mücahid Eker, Head of the Public Diplomacy Department Ömer Faruk Tanrıverdi and Head of the Strategic Communication and Crisis Management Department Gökhan Yücel were also present at the meeting.
