The Presidency’s Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, issued a statement regarding the forthcoming visit of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Türkiye on 6–8 May 2026.
In a message on his NSosyal account, Head of Communications Duran stated:
"President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria will pay an official visit to Türkiye on 6–8 May 2026 at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Within the framework of the visit, the first meeting of the Türkiye–Algeria High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council will be held in Ankara on 7 May 2026.
At the Council Meeting, to be convened with the participation of the relevant ministers of both countries, Türkiye’s relations with friendly and brotherly Algeria will be reviewed in all their aspects, and steps to further advance bilateral cooperation will be discussed.
Views on current regional and international developments will also be exchanged.
On the occasion of the visit, various agreements aimed at further strengthening the legal framework of bilateral relations are expected to be signed."
