President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with President Evariste Ndayishimiye of Burundi on the sidelines of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
The leaders addressed Türkiye–Burundi bilateral relations, as well as regional issues.
During the meeting, President Erdoğan emphasized the importance of taking further steps to enhance trade and economic relations between Türkiye and Burundi and to advance cooperation in the defense industry.
President Erdoğan also underscored Türkiye’s continued efforts to secure a lasting humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, and expressed appreciation for the steps taken by Burundi in this regard.
President Erdoğan further conveyed his best wishes to Burundi on the occasion of its assumption of the African Union Chairmanship for 2026.
