Speaking at AK Party’s Parliamentary Group Meeting, President Erdoğan said: “We have always prioritized Türkiye’s security and our nation’s future. Despite all the challenges and all the problems we have faced throughout the year, as AK Party and the People’s Alliance, we have never disappointed our nation, and have always acted in a manner that befits the greatness, glory, prestige and reputation of Türkiye and the Turkish nation.”
President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the party’s parliamentary group meeting in Ankara.
“We have proven ourselves in every area at home and abroad”
Underscoring that 2025 witnessed crises, conflicts, wars and tensions all across the world, but that they defended the interests of Türkiye during this difficult period in the best manner, President Erdoğan said: “We have proven ourselves in every area at home and abroad, from the Russia-Ukraine war, which will enter its fifth year, to the Gaza genocide, from the attacks carried out on our neighbor Iran to the humanitarian tragedy in Sudan, from our relations with America and Europe to our strengthening cooperation with the Turkic world and our stance on the operation against Qatar, and from our efforts for the terror-free Türkiye to the demonstrations, where our streets were terrorized after March 19. We have always prioritized Türkiye’s security and our nation’s future. Despite all the challenges and all the problems we have faced throughout the year, as AK Party and the People’s Alliance, we have never disappointed our nation, and have always acted in a manner that befits the greatness, glory, prestige and reputation of Türkiye and the Turkish nation.”
“TURKSAT 6A has gone into service”
Sharing some data about AK Party’s activities in 2025, President Erdoğan drew attention to defense industry, and said: “We have signed an agreement with Spain for the procurement of 30 HÜRJET jet trainers. The first delivery of our main battle tank ALTAY has been made to the Turkish Armed Forces. Our ballistic missile TAYFUN, developed by Roketsan, has successfully hit the target. We have carried out the system deliveries of 47 air defense components within our Steel Dome Project. An export and strategic cooperation agreement has been signed with Indonesia for our national combat aircraft KAAN. Our first-ever national communication satellite TURKSAT 6A has successfully completed the testing processes, and gone into service.”
“We became the third fastest-growing economy within the OECD”
Also touching upon economy, President Erdoğan noted that the Turkish economy continued to grow in 2025 as well despite the crises and conflicts in the region, and added: “We grew by 3.7 per cent in the first nine months of the year. We became the third fastest-growing economy within the OECD countries. Our national income surpassed 1.5 trillion dollars for the first time on annual basis. We elevated the magnitude of the Advance Loans against Investment Commitment program to 500 billion liras. In anti-inflation fight, we made a significant progress by closing 2025 with a rate of 30.89 per cent. Despite the earthquake expenditure, which approximated 3.6 trillion liras at current prices, the proportion of our budget deficit to national income continued to decrease. The gross reserves of our Central Bank exceeded 193 billion dollars.”
“We carried out an intensive diplomacy traffic”
Pointing to foreign policy, President Erdoğan noted that they carried out an intensive diplomacy and phone traffic for the solution of crises, especially for the establishment of permanent ceasefire in Gaza, and continued as follows: “We paid 24 visits to 17 countries, some of them more than once. We hosted 32 heads of state and government for 41 times in our country. We represented our country in the best manner in the international arena, from the NATO Summit to the United Nations General Assembly, from the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit to the G20 Summit. We successfully held the 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum.”
