Holding a joint press conference with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia, President Erdoğan said: “We discussed how we can unlock the potential for cooperation in many areas and how we can achieve our 1-billion-dollar target in trade volume. We are pleased to be the second biggest investor in Ethiopia.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali of Ethiopia held a joint press conference following their meeting and the signing ceremony of agreements at the National Palace in Addis Ababa.
“During the talks we concluded a short while ago with Mr. Prime Minister and his delegation, we addressed in detail our relations in the fields of trade investments, energy, mining, agriculture, telecommunication and education. We also discussed how we can unlock the potential for cooperation in many other areas and how we can achieve our 1-billion-dollar target in trade volume. We are pleased to be the second biggest investor in Ethiopia. It is a source of pride for us that more than 200 Turkish companies, with investments amounting to 2.5 billion dollars, are supporting the employment of approximately 20,000 Ethiopians,” President Erdoğan said.
