President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in China for the 25th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), met with President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran.
The meeting addressed Türkiye-Iran bilateral relations as well as regional and global developments.
President Erdoğan stated in the meeting that cooperation between Türkiye and Iran in many fields, particularly energy, serves the mutual interest. Noting that they consider Iran’s continuation of the nuclear negotiations beneficial, President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye will maintain its support for Iran in this regard.
President Erdoğan and President Pezeshkian also exchanged views on the latest situation in Syria, Israel’s attacks on Gaza, and the peace process in the South Caucasus.
