On the occasion of September 26 Turkish Language Day, President Erdoğan issued a message. "As one of the world's most ancient and widely spoken languages, Turkish, through which we give meaning to life, our physical and spiritual worlds, is one of our greatest riches," said President Erdoğan in his message, adding that the Turkish language, as one of the world's major languages, had played a crucial role in the establishment of the national spirit, as well as the acquisition and preservation of national identity.
In his message, President Erdoğan noted the following:
"It is critical to safeguard Turkish language with an awareness that encompasses all of our language's richness. We must continue to pay attention to how Turkish language is used in order to nurture, safeguard, and develop our language, which is a living entity. We must maintain our language in all of its originality in a world where technology is quickly progressing, and digitalization is spreading to all aspects of life. In addition to the use of Turkish as the language of art, literature, science, and education, the creation of oral and written works that reflect the richness and depth of our language will be a crucial step in passing on our wealthy linguistic heritage to future generations and improving the reputation of our language."
President Erdoğan gratefully commemorated all the rhetoricians, broad-minded, eloquent writers and speakers from Yunus Emre to Köroğlu, Yahya Kemal to Necip Fazıl, and Aşık Veysel to Neşet Ertaş, who contributed to conveying the beauty of Turkish, saying, "I hope that Turkish Language Day will serve as an opportunity to keep Turkish language alive and pass it on to future generations in all of its originality and richness, and I extend my warmest greetings to all of my citizens."
