President Erdoğan: “The Turkish nation, which maintained its unity and solidarity with the will and resolve displayed at the Sivas Congress, emerged victorious from the National War of Independence”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated, "Against all the odds, the Turkish nation, which maintained its unity and solidarity with the will and resolve displayed at the Sivas Congress, emerged victorious from the National War of Independence."

President Erdoğan issued a message on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the Sivas Congress.

Stating that the Sivas Congress was a historical turning point for the Turkish nation where decisions were taken to declare to the world that they would never give up on their independence, flag and homeland, President Erdoğan said, "Against all the odds, the Turkish nation, which maintained its unity and solidarity with the will and resolve displayed at the Sivas Congress, emerged victorious from the National War of Independence. Today, we take every step with the sense of being loyal to the decisions taken at the Sivas Congress, which laid the foundations of the Republic of Türkiye."

Expressing that they continue to work with determination without compromising the economic and political independence of the Turkish nation, the history of which is full of glorious victories, President Erdoğan noted the following in his message:

"By keeping the will of our beloved nation above everything else, protecting every inch of the homeland within the national borders, we continue to take firm steps towards a great and powerful Türkiye to attain our goals for 2023 goals and fulfill our visions for 2053 and 2071. On the 102nd anniversary of the Sivas Congress, I commemorate all our heroes with respect and gratitude, Ghazi Mustafa Kemal in particular, and I extend my heartfelt greetings to the people of Sivas, who hosted the Congress, and to all my citizens."
