President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan penned an article for the Yeni Şafak newspaper. In the article featured in the newspaper’s Vision 2026 supplement, President Erdoğan wrote:
"Humanity is enduring a difficult period in which political and economic fault lines are severely strained, and global governance mechanisms have grown dysfunctional. In this turbulent period marked by numerous challenges, we, as Türkiye, highlight global problems and argue across all platforms that a 'fairer world' can be achieved. We do not approach flaws in the global system with the belief that they are unchangeable but rather work to develop rational solutions to regional and global challenges. We raise the voice of hope, not despair.
Our region is facing multiple intertwined problems at the same time, primarily wars, terrorism, migration crises, and climate-related problems. The world is experiencing humanitarian crises rarely witnessed in history. As Türkiye, we do not turn a blind eye to these challenges or remain on the sidelines; drawing strength from our history, we pursue a resolute and principled foreign policy stance. We ensure that our friends and brothers feel they are not left alone through our humanitarian aid efforts.
We state in the strongest terms that we support peace and stability on all matters, particularly regarding the Russia-Ukraine war, Israeli aggression, Syria, Iraq, Somalia-Ethiopia, and Sudan. We emphasise, across all platforms, that building an environment of peace and stability in these regions will offer a meaningful roadmap to address the major crisis the world is facing.
On the other hand, we are taking historic steps to strengthen our country across all fields, especially in the defence industry. We have transformed Türkiye from a country that could not even acquire weapons and ammunition from its allies with money to a country that produces defence industry products with the intelligence and labour of its own human resources and has an indigenous production rate of 80%. We are now a country capable of producing its own aircraft, weapons, ships, missiles, tanks, artillery, and cyber systems in the highest quality. We know that our path is long and that we will definitely reach our goals. We continue to walk this challenging path with determination and perseverance, without falling into a whirlpool of despair.
We believe that grounded, solid energy policies will guarantee the prosperous future of our country, which is focused on the goal of "fully independent Türkiye" in energy. While reducing our energy dependency by extracting our own natural gas and oil, we have increased the share of renewable energy in our total installed power to over 60%. While striving to elevate our country to a higher league through nuclear energy, we are also taking significant steps in energy efficiency.
Socially, we are preparing our families, our culture, and our lifestyle in accordance with this emerging transformation process. We are taking the necessary measures to address the increasing attacks in these areas worldwide. With steps focused on the education and needs of our youth, we are building a Teknofest generation with high self-confidence.
The tensions in our region further increase the importance of safe transportation. Türkiye's role in bridging Asia and Europe through the Middle Corridor is crucial in this regard. We are taking effective actions on this strategic matter and working on other projects that will benefit both our country and our friends.
Expanding its foreign trade volume to new record highs each year, Türkiye has today reached an export level of $270 billion. Türkiye, which is advancing and developing in all domains, including education, health, science, and technology, will continue to make an impact in its region and around the world through strengthening its unity and solidarity. The road ahead for our country is fully clear. The future belongs to Türkiye; the future belongs to this august nation."
Furthermore, Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran shared a message on his NSosyal account regarding the article penned by President Erdoğan.
In his message, Head of Communications Duran stated:
"President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's article, addressing a wide range of issues from foreign policy and energy to the defence industry and international trade, and conveying key messages, was published in the Vision supplement of the Yeni Şafak newspaper.
In a region where conflicts, migration, and humanitarian crises intersect, Türkiye's foreign policy is guided by principles of conscience and justice rather than mere power dynamics. Demonstrating its pro-peace stance both on the ground and through diplomacy, Türkiye appeals to the global conscience not only through its humanitarian assistance but also through its principled position.
The progress achieved in the defence industry is a testament to the strategic mindset behind this stance. Türkiye, once subjected to embargoes, is now a country that is developing and strengthening its domestic technology. This increase in the domestic production rate is more than a technical success; it is a tangible manifestation of national will. In the words of our President: "We have transformed from a Türkiye that could not procure weapons and ammunition even from its allies, despite having the means, into a country that now possesses defence industry products developed through the intelligence and labour of its own human capital, achieving a domestic production ratio of 80 per cent."
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasised in his article that the goal of 'fully independent Türkiye' in the energy sector is the key to our nation's prosperous future and that this goal is being achieved through realistic and robust energy policies. President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye, which produces its own natural gas and oil, is rapidly reducing its energy dependence and that the share of renewable energy in total installed capacity has surpassed 60%. President Erdoğan noted that efforts to elevate Türkiye to a higher level through nuclear energy are ongoing and that decisive steps are being taken in the field of energy efficiency.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that this holistic approach, which places the family, culture, youth, and production at its core, is preparing Türkiye not only for present circumstances but also for the world of tomorrow in a strong manner. He stated that our country, with its growing economy, rising exports annually, and strengthening unity and solidarity, will continue to consolidate its position in its region and around the world."
