President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan shared an infographic about the Bayraktar Akıncı Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV), which was developed by Baykar using domestic and national resources and has been included in the Turkish Armed Forces inventory.
Akıncı UCAV was added to the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) inventory and made available to security forces at a ceremony held in Çorlu yesterday, attended by President Erdoğan. One hundred twenty-five trainees studying in five different fields also participated in the ceremony.
The features of UCAV were presented in the infographic that President Erdoğan shared on his social media account today. In his post, President Erdoğan said, "The new symbol of Türkiye's engineering capabilities, the new representative of our independence in the sky."
According to the infographic shared by President Erdoğan, Akıncı UCAV has a wingspan of 20 metres, a height of 4.1 metres and a length of 12.2 metres.
With a cruising speed of 200 knots and a maximum take-off weight of six tons, Akıncı can ascend to an altitude of 40 thousand feet and fly for 24 hours.
Akıncı, which was developed with a useful load carrying capacity of 1.5 tons, is equipped with advanced artificial intelligence, as well as national satellite communication and triple-redundant autopilot systems.
Since its first flight on December 6, 2019, Akıncı has conducted 1100 sorties so far.
Bayraktar Akıncı UCAV has the most advanced technological features in its class, and can be equipped with munitions, missiles, bombs and guided weapons such as Mini Smart Munition MAM-L, MAM-C, MAM-T, Penetrator Bomb, Cirit Missile, L-UMTAS Missile, Mini Smart Munition Bozok, MK-81, MK-82, MK-83 Guided Bombs (JDAM), Wing Assisted Guided Bomb MK-82, Air-to-Air Missile Gökdoğan and Bozdoğan, Stand-Off Missile SOM-A, Precision Guided Munition, Laser Guided Smart Munition, manufactured both domestically and nationally.
