President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran.
The leaders discussed the ceasefire and the security situation in the region.
President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye, together with the relevant countries, exerted intensive efforts throughout the process leading up to the ceasefire.
Stressing that the negotiations set to start in the days ahead should be put to the best possible use for lasting peace and stability, President Erdoğan said that those seeking to undermine the process should be prevented, and that Türkiye, together with the friendly countries, stands ready to provide every kind of contributions in the new period, as well.
Reiterating his sorrow and condolences for the losses sustained by the brotherly people of Iran, President Erdoğan added that Türkiye aims to secure a new climate of common sense and dialogue in the region.
