President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan answered questions from the youth from Turkey’s various cities during the “Library Talks” event held at the Nation’s Library.
Making remarks on the fight against COVID-19, President Erdoğan, underscoring that Turkey is one of the leading countries in vaccine administration, said that a total of 26.5 million doses of vaccine have been administrated thus far, and added: “Obviously, 26.5 million is a great number. With the steps we have taken following the Cabinet meeting held yesterday this number will rapidly increase.”
President Erdoğan also drew attention to the talks held with European countries regarding the COVID-19 measures taken in order for foreign visitors to come to Turkey.
In answer to a question about the international media’s and western countries’ silence towards the incidents occurring in Palestine, President Erdoğan highlighted the importance Turkey attaches to the Palestinian issue, and reminded his address to the UN General Assembly during which he recounted via maps how the terror state Israel has been invading Palestinian lands since 1947 to the extent that it has left almost no place for the Palestinians to live in.
Regarding Cyprus, President Erdoğan stated that he will be paying a visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on July 20, and said: “I will give the entire world the necessary messages from Northern Cyprus; that is why I will be in Northern Cyprus. Our presence in Northern Cyprus, the messages we are to give concern not only the island but the entire world. No one respects you unless you take a stand and show your determination.”
