President Erdoğan meets with TRNC President Erhürman

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with President Tufan Erhürman of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) at Dolmabahçe Presidential Office.

The meeting addressed bilateral relations between Türkiye and the TRNC, as well as regional issues.

President Erdoğan stated that military elements deployed to the island by some European countries under the pretext of the war in Iran should not become permanent.

Emphasising that Türkiye is ready to take every necessary step to defend the TRNC, President Erdoğan noted that, as Türkiye has done so far, it will never allow the rights and interests of the Turkish Cypriots to be violated.

President Erdoğan was accompanied at the meeting by Director of National Intelligence Organization İbrahim Kalın, Presidency’s Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran, Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çağatay Kılıç, and Chief Advisor to the President Zafer Çubukcu.
