President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with President Nataša Pirc Musar of Slovenia on the sidelines of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
The leaders addressed bilateral relations between Türkiye and Slovenia, as well as regional and global issues.
During the meeting, President Erdoğan stated that relations between Türkiye and Slovenia continue to strengthen and that efforts are being made to further enhance cooperation, particularly in the fields of trade, economy, and infrastructure.
President Erdoğan noted that Türkiye attaches strategic importance to its goal of full EU membership and expressed the expectation of a bold and visionary approach from the Union.
In the face of instability and conflict in our immediate region, President Erdoğan emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation among NATO Allies in the defense industry. Expressing the expectation that new decisions will be taken in this regard at the NATO Summit in Ankara, President Erdoğan noted that it would be beneficial for Slovenian officials to attend the SAHA Defense Exhibition to be held in Istanbul as of 5 May.
President Erdoğan expressed appreciation for Slovenia’s recognition of the State of Palestine, its imposition of an arms embargo on Israel, and its leadership in advancing draft resolutions in favor of Palestine at the United Nations.
President Erdoğan further stated that Türkiye would welcome Slovenia’s participation in the Balkan Peace Platform, established to support stability in the Balkans.
