President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine at the Presidential Complex.
The meeting addressed Israel’s attacks against Palestine and regional issues.
Stating that Israel’s genocide in Gaza had entered a new phase with the latest ground assaults, and that Israel was threatening not only Palestine but also regional stability, President Erdoğan noted that the attack against Qatar was an indication of this.
Emphasizing that the number of leaders and opinion leaders criticizing Israel was increasing, President Erdoğan said that efforts were ongoing to step up international pressure on Israel, and added that Türkiye would continue to resolutely raise the Palestinian cause and Israel’s aggression on every platform.
Underlining that Türkiye’s priority was to ensure an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and to end the humanitarian tragedy in the region, and that Israel was demonstrating its peace-undermining stance at every opportunity, President Erdoğan noted that Türkiye would be the voice of Palestine at the United Nations General Assembly.
Stressing that the Islamic world needed to be more united in order to eliminate the threat posed by Israel, and that the full establishment of political unity in Palestine would also strengthen these efforts, President Erdoğan said that Türkiye would continue to support these endeavors.
