President Erdoğan in Rome

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in Rome, Italy’s capital, at 00:10 Turkish local time, to attend the G20 Leaders’ Summit.

President Erdoğan was welcomed at Rome's Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci International Airport by Türkiye's Ambassador to Rome, Ömer Gücük, and Ambassador to the Vatican, Lütfullah Göktaş, as well as officials from the embassies in Rome and the Vatican.

President Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan were accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Treasury and Finance Lütfi Elvan, Presidency’s Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun and Presidential Spokesperson İbrahim Kalın in Rome.

President Erdoğan will attend the official G20 welcoming ceremony and the G20 family photo, as well as the sessions "Global Economy and Global Health" and "Supporting SMEs and Women-Owned Businesses for Better Recovery," and a working lunch.

President Erdoğan will hold bilateral meetings with leaders; as well as attend a cultural event to be hosted by Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi and a dinner honouring delegation heads hosted by Italian President Sergio Mattarella.
