President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan commemorated the late Prime Minister Adnan Menderes, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fatin Rüştü Zorlu and Minister of Finance Hasan Polatkan on the 61st anniversary of the May 27 military coup.
In the post on his Twitter account, President Erdoğan noted the following:
“I commemorate the late Adnan Menderes and his friends, who were executed by the coup plotters, on the anniversary of the May 27 coup, which was the first of the series of coups that made Türkiye pay heavy political, social and economic costs, and of which wounds are still bleeding in the hearts of our nation.”
