The video prepared for the first anniversary of Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque's reopening to worship was shared on our Directorate's official Twitter account.
The video featured images of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reciting the Holy Qur'an in the mosque, which was reopened to worship on the same day last year with the Friday prayer.
The thoughts of citizens who visited the mosque and voiced their longing for Hagia Sophia were also included in the video that featured exterior and interior images of the mosque.
The video ended with President Erdoğan's following words: "The resurrection of Hagia Sophia is the symbol of the resurgence of our civilization sun, whose foundation is justice, conscience, morality, unity and brotherhood, which humanity has longed for."
The post was shared with the caption, "May the first anniversary of the reopening of the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque, entrusted to us by Fatih Sultan Mehmed Khan, to worship after 86 years, be auspicious."
