President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan shared a message on his NSosyal account on the occasion of March 30, the International Day of Zero Waste.
President Erdoğan stated in his post:
“On the occasion of March 30, the International Day of Zero Waste, I would like to express my great satisfaction with the continuous growth and strengthening of the Zero Waste Movement, which we launched in 2017 under the leadership of my esteemed spouse, Emine Erdoğan.
Through the Zero Waste Movement, initiated by our country and now transformed into a global environmental initiative, a total of 90 million tons of waste has been recovered.
In this way, we have contributed 365 billion Turkish lira to Türkiye’s economy.
We will, inshallah, increase the recovery rate to 60 percent by 2035 and to 70 percent by 2053.
We will continue our determined fight against climate change and environmental pollution.”
Meanwhile, Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran also shared a message on his NSosyal account on the occasion of March 30, the International Day of Zero Waste.

This strong approach plays a significant role in building a sustainable future.
The zero waste philosophy forms the foundation of a culture of living that is harmonious with nature, balanced, and sustainable. Every small step we take can be part of a great transformation, because a clean environment is indispensable for a healthy society.
