Presidency’s Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, congratulated Mehmet Seman Ağa, Chairman of the Iraqi Turkmen Front, on his election as Governor of Kirkuk, in a post shared on his NSosyal account.
In his message, Head of Communications Duran stated:
“I congratulate Mr. Mehmet Seman Ağa, Chairman of the Iraqi Turkmen Front, on his election as Governor of Kirkuk and hope that it will bring positive outcomes for our Turkmen brothers and sisters in Kirkuk.
The election of a Turkmen governor in Kirkuk is a strong manifestation of balanced representation, equality before the law, and confidence in a shared future.
This step represents a historic milestone, consistent with the spirit of Kirkuk, which is distinguished by its multicultural character.
The fair inclusion of Turkmens—one of the constituent components of Kirkuk—in governance represents not only the fulfilment of a long-overdue right, but also the key to lasting stability.
I hope that this new period will bring security, prosperity and stability to brotherly Iraq and to Kirkuk.”
