Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun said, “Our President once again stood tall and showed the world that our government is ready to take any action necessary to ensure our sovereignty and independence.”
Altun shared a thread on his social media account with the hashtag “Thank You Erdoğan”.
“We are grateful for the leadership our President Erdogan has shown against the unacceptable statement issued by 10 embassies in Türkiye. His reaction to this disrespectful statement is a result of his commitment and sensitivity over our national sovereignty.” Altun said, and continued as follows:
“Türkiye always respects domestic affairs of other countries and never interferes with judicial processes in line with international law and customs. We expect the same thing from other nations, especially allied nations, and their representatives in our country. Our Foreign Ministry has already given the necessary response to these foreign missions and warned them about their unacceptable behaviour.”
Altun indicated that the government would not shy away from any further steps to show that they would never compromise national sovereignty, and added:
“Those who were quick to turn this diplomatic row into a domestic issue for their political interests have clearly gone astray. Their claim to be following the path of a leader who had once said, “independence is my character” is a preposterous lie. Our President Erdogan is uncompromising when it comes to Turkish national sovereignty and security of our nation. He once again stood tall and showed the world that our government is ready to take any action necessary to ensure our sovereignty and independence.”
