Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun sent a message to Anadolu Agency’s (AA) Chairman of the Board and Director-General Şenol Kazancı on the occasion of the AA’s centennial anniversary.
Celebrating all the staff of the Agency, Altun noted the following in his message:
"Our National Agency is one of the exceptional institutions in our country to reach its 100th anniversary. Anadolu Agency has a special place due to its founding mission. Undoubtedly, it was a great vision to found an agency with the purpose of explaining our National Struggle to our people and the world, and meeting the need of domestic and international public opinion for the reliable and accurate flow of information. Anadolu Agency exerted great efforts and fulfilled this challenging mission successfully at that time. Later on, it has witnessed the history at every stage from the foundation of the Republic to these days of our country. It is also a source of pride to see that our National Agency has become a ‘world agency’ today thanks to the steps it has taken towards internationalization starting with its foundation."
Pointing out that AA had been a school for the Turkish press as it had raised many reporters, journalists, photojournalists, and cameramen, Altun commented, "Anadolu Agency carries on its path with firm steps, bringing together principled and reliable reporting with new means of media and technology. Our National Agency will indubitably continue to be a reliable news source not only for our country but also for the entire world."
"I commemorate the founders of the Agency with gratitude"
Underlining that the Agency would continue to succeed in its activities in the future thanks to its competent human resources, increasing technical capacity, and growing national and global network, Altun noted the following:
"Directorate of Communications will continue to be in coordination with and provide all kinds of support to Anadolu Agency as we do with all our related institutions in line with our mission to ‘make the voice of our people heard by the world’. I commemorate the founders of the Agency, particularly Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, with gratitude. I wish God’s mercy upon those who contributed to this deep-rooted agency and passed away or lost their lives on duty, and wish a healthy and long life for those who are still alive. I hope that the successful works carried out by the staff of Anadolu Agency working in Turkey and across the world will continue. I believe that Anadolu Agency will continue to be a witness of the history for many years to come."
