President Erdoğan Sends Video Message to Osman Gazi Floating Production Platform Send-Off Ceremony

In a video message sent to the Osman Gazi Floating Production Platform Send-Off Ceremony held at Filyos Port in Zonguldak, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan prayed to Allah that the Osman Gazi Floating Production Platform, adorned with the colours of the Turkish flag, would serve the country and the nation well.

Recalling that he had announced in July 2024 that Türkiye would acquire its first floating production platform and that, in May last year, the platform, which had been named “Osman Gazi”, was sent off from Dolmabahçe Palace to Filyos, President Erdoğan said: “Today, we are opening a brand-new chapter in our energy history. We are sending Osman Gazi, essentially a floating industrial facility, off to its duty station in the Black Sea. He described Osman Gazi as the 'first factory of the Blue Homeland', the maritime counterpart of the Century of Türkiye vision.”

Describing Osman Gazi as a floating fortress of energy, measuring 298.5 metres in length, 56 metres in width and 29.5 metres in depth, with a crew of 140, President Erdoğan went on to say,

“Equipped with 21 different units, the platform will process natural gas extracted from wells in the Sakarya Gas Field and transport it to Filyos through subsea pipelines. Natural gas production in the Black Sea will double to 20 million cubic meters per day, and starting in 2027, one in every three households will use our domestic natural gas. I wish this project every success. I would like to thank all my colleagues who have contributed to this visionary project and wish all personnel who will serve on the platform every success in their duties.”
