President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in New York for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, met with Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze of Georgia at the Turkish House.
During the meeting, Türkiye-Georgia bilateral relations, as well as regional and global matters, were discussed.
Expressing his pleasure that Türkiye has been Georgia’s largest trade partner for the past 18 years, President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye will continue to take steps to further advance cooperation in multiple areas, particularly trade, transportation, and security.
President Erdoğan also highlighted the importance of sustained solidarity between the two countries at the international level, adding that making the most effective use of the Türkiye-Georgia-Azerbaijan cooperation mechanisms would also benefit our countries.
President Erdoğan was accompanied at the meeting by Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, and MHP Deputy Chairman İsmail Özdemir.
