Head of Communications Duran’s message on “World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought”

Presidency's Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran issued a message on the occasion of the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought, observed on 17 June.

In his message shared on his NSosyal account, Head of Communications Duran stated:

“Soil and water are among the most valuable legacies we will leave to the future. Desertification and drought, on the other hand, are common challenges that threaten not only the environment but also production, food security, and our future.

On the occasion of the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought on 17 June, we once again reaffirm the importance of protecting our natural resources and safeguarding our environment.

The planting of millions of saplings under the National Afforestation Day initiative declared by our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, stands as one of the strongest indicators of our determination in this regard.

For a greener and more liveable future, we must all work together to protect our soil, water, and natural environment.”
