Head of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, Burhanettin Duran, said that the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement signed between Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan was "a historic step" in terms of building on their shared history, deep bonds of brotherhood, and strong will for solidarity on a strategic basis among the three countries.
He added that a strong Türkiye, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, remains committed to contributing to regional and global peace, security, and stability through strategic partnerships with friendly and brotherly countries amid the evolving and complex global security environment.
He emphasised that the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement, signed by Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, was a historic step to build on their shared history, deep bonds of brotherhood, and strong will for strategic solidarity.
Duran explained that this agreement, which is not directed against any country, would enhance the three countries' collective security and deterrence; further advance defence industry cooperation and joint military capabilities; and make an important contribution to the preservation of peace and stability in the region.
Duran continued his remarks as follows:
"The strong will demonstrated by Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan is a concrete manifestation of the brotherly peoples' commitment to shared values and their determination to build the security architecture of the future through solidarity."
Duran expressed hope that the agreement would also benefit all three countries and wished that the longstanding bonds of brotherhood and strategic cooperation among them would grow even stronger.
